The Minister of Education (the Hon. 11. Atrnore) is visiting Gisborne, whero he has been making a round of the schools. Mr. Atmore loft this morning for Opotiki, visiting'1 a largo number of country schools en route.

Mr. Barrow Cadbury, chairman of directors of Cadbury Bros., Ltd., Bournville, England, will arrive in Wellington by the Marama on 25th February. Ho is accompanied by Mrs. Cadbury and his two daughters, one of whom (Miss Dorothy Cadbury) is also a diroctor of tho .firm. .'' i Mr. J. I. Goldsmith, honorary secretary of tho Wellington branch of the South African War Veterans' Association, will leave- for Sydney on .a month's holiday on 2Sth February.. At the last meeting of the association , refcrenco to Mr. Goldsmith's good work for the association was made, by the president, Major P. do B. Brandon. Several other members spoke in a similar complimentary strain, and.it was decided to place on record Mr. Goldsmith's services and Wish hhn a pleasant voyage; Mr. Goldsmith, in reply, said that what he had done was , a labour of love. As authorised by the association, he would have pleasure iv going into the matter of reciprocity in connection with pensions with the New South Wales Association. ,
