TROUBLE ON SHIP
' ENGINEER ARRESTED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, 17th February.
The Norwegian steamer June was delayed 'at Auckland to-night owing to trouble with the crew. The vessel arrived from Nauru Island on Saturday to replenish her bunkers, and she was to have sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers this evening to unload her phosphate cargo. .At sailing time the crew refused to take:the vessel to sea unless they were given portion of their wages. This was done, and, the-vessel's ; departure was .postponed until 10 p.m. ......'
After the postponement trouble occurred between the second' and third engineers, with the result that the wharf policemen had to. go on board the vessel and arrest the second engineer on a charge of assault. As the case will not be heard* until to-morrow, the steamer left the ,wharf and anchored in the stream.
C. W. Price and Co. will sell the furniture and bedding of ten rooms at 25, Vivian street - to-morrow, coinmencing at 10 a.m. On 25th February, at 10, they will sell the stock-in-trade and machinery of a furniture factory on premises, corner of Wallace and Rolleston streets. • - ...
