AMATEUR ATHLETICS

CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING

The Wellington provincial amateur athletic and cycling championships are to be decided at the Petone Recreation Ground next Saturday. Excellent entries have been received, and all the leading athletes &f town and country will be taking part. The Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Hawkec Bay-Poverty Bay sub-centres will be represented, ad also will the llotueka Club. Local clubs taking part will be Wellington, Olympic, Kiwi, Lower Hutt, Petone, and Athletic. Miss Nortna Wilson, who represented New Zealand at the last Olympic Games, will be a member of the Hawkes Bay-Poverty Bay team for the meeting, at which it is expected there will be performances of a high order.
