UNPUNCTUAL CRICKETERS
A letter drawing attention to delays in starting matches caused by players not attending punctually, was received at last evening's meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association from Mr. W. & Hood, hon. secretary of the Wellington Cricket Umpires' Association. Mr. Hood said he had been instructed by the Umpires' Association to ask the committee to circularise all clubs engaged each week in championship matches requesting players to be on the field at the appointed starting time. "The umpires acting in the junior B match, Old Boys v. Midland, played at Kelbnra on 11th and 18th Jannary," added the letter, "report that the game could not commence until 15 minutes after the specified time on the first day and 25 minutes on the second day, owing to some players being absent at the time play should have commenced."
It was decided to circularise all clnbs as requested, and to notify Old Boys and Midland of the report made by the umpires on tho match played last month.
