ROYAL AIR FORCE
WELLINGTON TRAINEES
Advice has been received, that lan M'Nicol and Elton Williams, both 'of Wellington, are making excellent' progress with their training in the Royal Air Force. They are at No. 2 Flying Training School, Digby, Lincolnshire, and in the recent examinations both did well, M'Nicol gaining very high marks. Before leaving for England M'Nicol and, Williams were prominentv Rugby footballers in Wellingtou, both being members of the Oriental Club, and they have been showing good form in the field of sport at Home, although M'Nicol was out of action for a time owing to an injury received during a'Rugby football match. Apart from playing for the Digby team, iv which there are other New Zealanders, with W. Mathias, of Auckland, as captain, the two Wellingtonians ' have been playing for Leicester arid Blackheath, and have also taken part in the 11. A.F. trials. Williams has also taken up boxing, and is .doing well in this branch of sport. ,
