SHARK TRAGEDY
MAN KILLED AT MELBOURNE
FIRST CASE FOR, FIFTY YEARS MELBOURNE, 16th February. The first shark tragedy for fifty years at Brighton Beach occurred yesterday. <$ Norman Clurk, aged eighteen, was attacked while bathing near the pier and was terribly mauled. He was clraggbd into the bay, and his body has not 3'et been recovered. His lady companion was an eye-witness of the shocking affair. A crowd saw the shark seize Clark by the buttocks and drag him under time and time again. His cries became, fainter and fainter, until nothing was loft but blood-stained water.
