DROP ON LAST YEAR

■ jngnrjes snowing the quantity of frozen meat exported from New Zealand from Ist October, 1929, until 31st January, 1930, are supplied by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board.

The figures are as follow (those for the same period last year being given in parentheses): —

Beef, 16,546qrs (2S,lsGqrs). , Mutton, 294,203 carcases (304,719 carcases). : Lamb, 1,045,550 carcases (1,150,712 carcases).

Pork, 39,879 carcases (51,794 carcases). : Boneless beef, 12,817 bags (21,488 bags). Shipments to London were: Beef,' 14,----709; mutton, 277,383; lamb, 942,382; pork, 35,056; boneless beef, 200.

Following are the killings for export at all works from Ist October last until 31st January (the figures for last year being given in parentheses):— Beef (quarters), 34,815 (27,275). • Wether mutton (carcases), 350,101 (324,----555).

•- Ewe mutton (carcases), 113,033 {91,620), Lamb (carcases), 2,188,570 (2,149,314). Pork (porkers) (carcases), 31,521 (35,----679).

Pork (baconers) (carcases), 15,871 (24,----105).

Boneless beef (frt. carcases), 44,666 (33,----118). ■ '

Sundries (frt. carcases), 40,149 (30,028)

Stocks in hand in stores in New Z.ealand on 31st January were"as follow (last year's figures being given in parentheses): • Beef fquarters), 17,580 (10,061). • Wether mutton (carcases), 138,060 (124,----649).
