ANOTHEE £1000 WANTED

PORIRUA-TITAHI BAY.ROAD

Reporting to the Makara. County Council to-day, the committee stated that tho Public Works Department had notified that £2000 had now been exhausted on the Porirua-Titahi Bay road, and the question arose whether financo was available to complete the road improvements, which were estimated to cost an additional £1000. If the council prepared to contribute & 500, application would be made to ascertain whether the Government would contribute a like amount.

The committee decided to look intp the Public Works supplementary estimates for the purpose of ascertaining whether the full amount authorised had been spent, there being an impression on the committee that an additional £1000 had been provided. The council adopted the committee's report.
