SAMOAN FORCE
OFFICERS RECEIVE ORDERS . (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") AUCKLAND, This Day. Although no official , announcement lias been made, several officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps have received orders to hold themselves in readiness for service in Samoa with the special force of 250 military police which the Government is preparing to dispatch if necessary. Major N. W. MD. "Weir, staff officer in charge of No. 5 Begimoutal District, was mentioned yesterday as the officer to command the force, with Captain G. Ditmer, M.C., of Paeroa, as second in command. Captain J. G. C. Wales, Adjut/it of the -Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, and Captaiu A. W. Greville, weapon training officer, Northern Command, have also received orders.. Defence Department officials declined to comment on the above telegram when it was referred to them to-day. It is understood that the members of the proposed force will leave for Trentham Camp to-morrow morning.
