CHURCH BELLS

(To tho Editor.) Sir,—ln reply to my letter, "Anglieas'' suggests that I have a weird mentality, because I--ask that churches which a.r4. close to each other should not riug thei*! bells at the same time, thereby causing discord (let one bell answer for both)^ and also because I suggested that church bells should not be rung whilst the Carillon is being played. I hope we shell bava hymns played every Sunday evening between, say, 6 and 7 o'clock, there beiug less noise about that time. AH the churches would benefit by the peopla being reminded of their Sunday evening worship. There would then bo no need for individual church bells to ring in opposition to each other. Surely there is nothing against Christianity in these suggestions, just the reverse.—l am, etc., HARMONY-
