The Egyptian elections passed off quietly, and the Wafdists swept the board.
Nahas Pasha will be Prime Minister
The "Daily Express's" special correspondent at Cairo states that tho result of tho election was a foregone conclusion. A .Wafd Government, under Nahas Pasha, will hasten to accept the treaty Mr. Henderson offered. In the meantime- not only foreigners, but Egyptians themselves, dread what will happen when Britain finally hands over aftairs to tho Egyptians, who have many good qualities but have not attained tho leust sense of responsibility--Most people fear the country will drift to bankruptcy, for the bitterest critics ot Britaiu admit that only British financial advisers previously warded off disaster.
In tho meantime- tho most significant development is the formation of Fascist groups for Pan-Italian propaganda. •l y Z M f°r tho Present h0 c°atcnt with the steady development of a proItalian movement, but when. the moment comes after tho abolition of the capitulations and the departure of the British there is no telling what may happen.
