KIPPAX MAKES CENTURY
BOWLERS TAKE A TURN
SYDNEY, 10th December. For the test trial cricket match the weather was cooler to-day. There were 4000 present. Tho wicket, disclosed signs of wear.
Bradman showed restraint, and was unhappy when facing Grimmett, who was particularly dangerous.' Bradman went out leg before wicket when he had added 20 runs to his over-night total. Kippax played Grimmett carefully, but pasted the other bowlers. He rendered valuable help to his side. He gave a couple of difficult chances. Allsopp again failed with the bat. Rigg was unable to get going. The remainder of the side went cheaply. . Ryder's team, with 188 to win, began their second innings late in the afternoon.
- The experiment was tried of using the colts first, but the deadly bowling of Blackio and Hornibrook accounted for them one afiter another at brief intervals,' until tho rot was stopped' by tho stalwarts, Ryder and Ponsford. When stumps were drawn eight wickets were down for 152.

Grimmett took seven wickets for 173 runs, Oxenham got two for 97, and M'Cabe one for 42." Alexander, Marks, and Ryder did not obtain any wickets.
