FAIR TO CLOUDY

AND FRESHENING WINDS

The anti-cyclone now crossing the Dominion has intensified somewhat and pressure in the north has risen still further, although in the south barometers have shown little movement. Yesterday's- south-westerly winds have veered to the north and temperatures have risen. Scattered showers have been reported from Westland, Otago, and Taihape, but otherwise the weather over the major portion of the Dominion has been fair. •

Pair to cloudy weather is indicated by to-day's meteorological charts. Moderate to strong northerly winds may be expected, and in and'south of Cook Strait these will freshen. In western and southern districts scattered rain is still probable, and these conditions will extend later to all districts with a westerly aspect. Temperatures will remain warm.
