HAUTERE RIFLE CLUB

Members fired ten shots at 500 and 600 yards on Saturday, completing the competition for Mr. R. Hagan, senior's, trophy, and the second round of the Cook Cup. A stiff wind, though fairly steady at 600 yards, changed to variable by tha time 600 was reached and scores at the latter range suffered in consequence. At 500 G. Hayward 47, A. Thomson and E. Taylor 46 each, were outstanding, while C. Jones made top score at 600 with 41. DeputyPresident Thomson won the trophy, heading the list by two points from E. Taylor. Totals for the Cook Cup are A. Thomson 208, G. Hayward 203, V. Cottle 257, C. Morgan 249, K. Pullman 249, C. Strom 244, M. Fielding 242. Next Saturday members will fire at ranges 600 and 800 yards for the Vickers Cup.
