APPRECIATION

A LETTER FROM GERMANY

A letter expressing appreciation at the welcome extended to the officers of the German cruiser Emden, when she was at Wellington, was read at the Eotary Club luncheon to-day. The letter, which was from Dr. Wilhelm Cuno, Hamburg, was as follows:—

"Esteemed President,—The friendly reception which tlio officers of the German cruiser Emden found last summer, and by which you have served the mind of the 6th aim of Rotary International, induces mo to express to your good self the most heartfelt thanks m the name of the German Eotarians. You may bo assured" that the inendly reception the representatives of Germany found caused in our country the most pleasant feelings. With heartfelt Rotary regards, Cuno, Governor of the 73rd district."
