CRICKET TEST TRIAL
BRADMAN'S BRILLIANCE
ONE CENTURY TO ANOTHER
SYDNEY, 9th December.
The weather was fine and hot to-day for the continuance of the Test trial match, and there were 7000 present.
Bradman's day was how the crowd viewed to-day's play. He carried his Saturday's score to 124. "When he realised that the finst innings -would shortly close he took undue risks, clouting every ball hard, ana finally being caught in the simplest manner. He ana Eigg distinguished themselves.
Ej-aer sent Woodfull's men in again, the opening pair being Bradman and Woodfull. Again Bradman was seen in merriest mood, persistently driving hard and gracefully turning the ball to the leg boundary. He never once looked like getting out. He was nothing short of brilliant and received a flattering ovation. Oxenham bowled singularly well. He really was the only man who troubled Bradman. Whitfield bowled a nice length and impressed. Grimmett -was always dangerous, but Alexander as a bowler was not troublesome. When stumps were drawn Woodfull's team had 341 on the board for twa > wickets, Bradman being not out with 205.
Byder's team, first innings, 663. Woodfull's team, first innings, 309 (Woodfull, 36; Fairfax, 25; Kippax, 17; Bradman, 124; Allsopp, 4; Eigg, 73Burrows, 7; Ellis, 4; Blackie, 0; Hornibrook, 2; Wall, not out, 0; extras, 17).
