Appreciation of the manner in which the Acting Town Clerk (Mr. W. J, Burns) and bis assistant, Miss 2J. Courtney, had carried on the work of the boi-ough while it had been without a town clerk, was expressed by the Upper Hutt Borough Council last night. It was decided to grant them a bonus in view of their excellent service.
Edward Mayo Kebbell, a second ofc fender for drunkenness, was fined &1 by Mr. T. H. Coltraan, J.P., at the Mount Cook Police Court this morning-.
