MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police cases in the Magistrate's Court today were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. One first offender for drunkenness was nned 10s, the amount of his bail Patrick O'Callaghan, a labourer, aged •i 7, was fined £1, in default three days' for his third statutory offence of druukenness. On a charge of casting offensive matter, Edward Foster, aged 3S, was fined £1, .in default seven days' imprisonment. He was convicted and discharged i'or being drunk.
A remand until Wednesday week was granted 111 the case of Robert Forbes Keid alias Kobert Mason Russell, who is charged on two counts of obtaining goods by false pretences and one count of obtaining board and lodging by fraud. The accused, for whom Mr. T. Meltzer appeared, was allowed bail in his own bond of £200 and oue surety of £200.
