CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
One of the functions of Rotarians is the supplying at Christmas-time of hampers to those in necessitous circumstances. At to-day's Rotary Club luncheon the sale of a Christmas stocking in aid of the hamper fund realised the creditable sum of £18 6s 6d. • To supplement the "sunshine fund," fines were inflicted without discrimination, and a satisfactory amount was collected. The chief speaker to-day was Uotawan Campbell Begg, who spoke on his war experiences in Mesopotamia. Mr. Campbell Begg, who served with the R.A.M.C., stressed the magnitude of the campaign, which he said was realised by very few people; the. difficulties the British troops suffered thi-opgh heavy casualties and disease casualties, ' and dealt with the history of the campaign which led to the capture of Bagdad.
