SCHOOL CAPITATION
A meeting, of householders was held in the Clyde Quay School on Thursday evening and -was addressed by Mr. W H. Phillips, chairman of' tlie; school committee, on the subject of-Government capitation payments; ■■■: The meeting was 'also addressed by Mr. T. Forsyth (chairman of the. Education Board), who is a member of the committee. . He pointed out that as capitation was paid on the average attendance, Clyde Quay School, as well as other city schools, had been badly affectrd by the fact of the pity population.migratextent, to the'suburbs. «Jl ? ," 0Wln? resolution was carried: That the householders of Clyde Quay bchool_ district-deplore the Government's delay m granting; the-request for increased capitation necessary for the efficient carrying out of the requirements of the school, which are essential for the welfare of the children, aud .urge that financial assistance be given, without delay. Further, that a. copy of'this" resolution be forwarded to the Prime Minister and to the Minister of Education. '- Pending a reply from the Government, it is the opinion of this [meeting that any further action should be deterred meanwhile.". ■■ • ■
