COLOGNE, sth December.
Following tho evacuation of the Second Zone of the Ehineland tho inhabitants of Weissenthurn were incensed to find the French flag flying over the memorial to General Hochc, the caretaker of which declined to haul down the tricolour when tho Burgomaster requested it, maintaining that the. memorial stood on French soil. Tho Burgomaster withdrew to consult a higher authority. Meanwhile the villagers nawcd down flic mast.
