VAIN SEARCH FOR OPIUM

As a result of certain information, parties of detectives and plainclothes constables raided Chinese premises in Haining and Frederick streets, and also made a raid at Lower Hutt yesterday afternoon in search of opium, but although very thorough investigations were made none was found.
