MORE RAIN COMING
UNFAVOURABLE OUTLOOK
The recent anti-cyclone hcis been of brief duration, and is now passing away eastward. It is unfortunately followed by a deep depression of cyclonic form. This is advancing on to the South Island somewhat rapidly. Consequently pressure has fallen considerably in southern districts, northerly winds have become general, and freshened in the south, and cloud has increased everywhere. Rain has already set in since last night in western districts south of Taranaki and in Otago. The forecast is for freshening northerly winds which, in and south of Cook Strait, will reach gale force at times. Dull and misty weather may bo expected. Eain, at times heavy, will set in over the South Island, and will gradually extend to most other districts. Temperatures will be mild.
