SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.

Mrs. E. S. Harkness proved a most thoughtful hostess to seafaring quests .at her concert at the Sailors' Friend Society last night, and rounds of applause led to many encores. The performers were Mesdames Pettit and Coventry, Misses Cole, B. Luke, L. Luke, M. Holls, J. Rosenberg, and Messrs. A. P. Dornan. Smith, and Williams. Mrs. T. A. Coventry was at the piano. Light refreshments were dispensed by the hostess and her helpers. The temperance address was given with eifect by the Rev. E. S. Harkness. The competitions were again most successful Prizes came from Marton • and Martinboroiigh, and went to the lonic, Kent, and Mahia.
