THE AERO CLUB
HUTT VALLEY BRANCH
A well-attended meeting was held at. Lower Hutt last, night forrft* purpose of forming a- Hutt Valley branch of the Wellington Aero Club.
Mr. A. W. Nisbet, who was elected to the chair, reported on the deputations to the Minister of Defence and the Hutt River Board concerning the question of securing a site for a landing ground oa Gear Island. They had received a very good hearing, and the River Board had agreed to defer dealing definitely with the leasing of Gear Island until the Wellington Aero Club had had time to put forward their proposals.
It was moved by Mr. Nisbet that a Hutt Valley branch of the Wellington Aero Club be formed. The motion was carried unanimously.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. V. Riddiford; president, Mr. Norman Gibbons; vice-presidents. Sir Alexander Roberts, Dr. J. R. Boyd, Messrs. W. Barton, S. V. Burridge, G M Mitchell, W. G. Lodder, M. C. W. Mason, Hunter, Johnson, H. G. Teagle, and G. Cooper; committee. Messrs. W. Leighton ■T. E. Maclaren, 0. Cottrell, G: Ca.'.er, a] \V. Tressider, and I. E". Rawnsley; hon. secretary, Mr. A. W. Nisbet; hon treasurer. Mr. C. R. Barrett.
