MIRAMAR W.C.T.U.

The annual meeting of the Miramar W.C.T.U. was held at Mrs. Foothead's house, with, Mr?. E ; M. Evans in the chair. It-was regretted that owing to the proximity of Christmas," with all its attendant activities, none of the members were able to attend the district executive meetings to be held at Masterton. Th" secretary read the annual report of the year's work, the treasurer's statement was reao1, and a report given of the."White Eibbon" work. A vote of thanks was passed to those who during the year had entertained the^ union at meetings at their houses. Afternoon tea was served at the close of the meeting. The cradle roll party of the Miramar branch also took place this month at St. Aidan's Schoolroom, when a large number of the children, attended' by their mothers, were entertained. Afternoon tea was served to the mothers, while the children played ring games in the grounds until tea time, when, wearing brightly-coloured paper hats, they seemed thoroughly, to. enjoy everything provided for them. Balloons were given out, adding greatly to the fun. The afternoon was a thoroughly enjoyable one.
