IN HONOUR OF SCOTT

Through the National Geographical Society at Washington, the following message was on sth September trans nutted by request to England for Mr Peter Scott, the son of the late famous Polar explorer, Captain Scott:—"Prom Little America Camp, Antarctica.—We hoisted tho American flag here on the return of the sun to Antarctica. Then, m honour of your father and his comrades, we unfurled the British flag alongside the American. All the members, of this expedition join me in the best of good wishes for you and your mother.—Richard E. Byrd." Peter Scott was a baby when his father died in Antarctica in 1912. He is the godson of Sir J. M. Barrie, and was named after "Peter Pan."
