BIG INCREASE IN LOANS

INVERCARGILL, This Day. In conversation with a "News" reporter, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle stated that the amount available for loans at the State Advances Office when the Government took office was £450,000. The number of applications pending was 3971, and the amount involved £4,168,290. The number of loans authorised to 31st October of this year was 7028, and the amount involved £7,114,890. The loans actually paid totalled 5161, amounting to
