The O.G.P.U. (Obiedinioanoje Gosudarstvennoje Politicheskoje Upravlenie)' is simply the old and dreaded Tcheka under a new name. It is designed to combat political and economic counterrevolution, espionage, and brigandage. Its methods are notorious.
