WORK OF THE COUNCIL.
The Legislative Council is keeping good pace with the progress being made by the House of Representatives, and from day to day it is right up to dat« with the Bills that have been sent forward, for the practice at the end o£ the session is to put Bills through all stages at one sitting. Yesterday was a good working day. In the afternoon the Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill, the Maori Arti and Crafts Bill, the Native Trustee Amendment Bill, the Native Land Amendment, and Native Land Claim! Adjustment Bill were passed, the two latter with amendments, and in the evening, practically without 'discussion, the Pensions Bill, the Rural Advances Bill, the Bank of New Zealand Bill, the Education Amendment Bill, and the Wcstport Harbour Amendment Bill were similarly disposed of.
