The Department of Health has received the following notifications of infectious diseases in the Wellington health district for the week ended yesterday (the figures for the previous seven days being shown in parentheses):— Taranaki-Horowhenua. —Scarlet fever, 2 (2); diphtheria, 9 (11); pneumonia, 3 (0); puerperal fever, 2 (0); enteric fever, 0 (1); tuberculosis, 0 (3); pneumonic influenza, 0 (1); erysipelas, 0 (2). Wairarapa-East Cape.—Diphtheria, 5 (9); enteric fever, 4 (0); tuberculosis, 2 (1); pneumonia, 5 (5); erysipelas, 1 (0); scarlet fever, 0 (1); pneumonic influenza, 0 (2); cerebro-spinal meningitis, 0 (1); ophthalma neonatorum, 0 (1). Central Wellington.—Scarlet fever, 6 (9); diphtheria, 2 (5); erysipelas, 2 (0); pneumonia, 0 (1); pneumonic influenza, 0 (1); poliomvelitis, 0 (1); puerperal fever, 0 (1). Nelson-Marlborough.—Diphtheria, 1 (2); enteric fever, 0 (1); tuberculosis, 0 (1): pneumonia, 0 (1); pneumonic influenza, 0 (2).
