RUGBY IN FIJI
PROWESS OF THE NATIVES.
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post,")
AUCKLAND, This Day. That the best Fiji team is up to the Auckland senior standard was the opinion expressed by Mr. A. Craig, manager of the Auckland University Rugby team, which returned by the Tofua this morning after spending fifteen days in Fiji and playing four matches. The Aucklanders won the game played at Levuka. At Suva three Tests were played. Tho first was drawn, the second was won by University, and the third by Fiji. Tho natives get a lot of fun out of thenRugby clashes. The Auckland team saw a game between Fiji and Tonga, which the latter won by 6 points to 3. One Tongan stalwart amazed the New Zealand visitors when ho put a penalty over from half-way with his baro foot, previously having punched a hole with his heel to place the ball, a feat which the University players had found difficult enough with the heel of the boot. The tourist, came ashore laden with Fiji trophies ranging from coral and clubs to picturesque headgear.
