"EVENING POST" SPORTS EDITION
FOOTBALL SKILL COMPETITION.
Interest in the "Evening Post" Football Skill Competition has been well maintained throughout the season, and for last Saturday's Rugby contest there was again a large entry, coupons being received from all parts of the country. In the main the .entrants were on this occasion upset in their calculations by the drawn game between Oriental and Poncke, and also by the victory of Marist over Petone. Even so, there were quite a number of competitors with a fairly accurate idea of form for the day; in fact, some conI pons showed a correct score, including that of the Oriental-Poneke match. The process of finding the best entries was simrilified by the fact that most of the entrants credited Petone with a win. However, in the final scrutiny the estimation of the scores by two of the competitors was so close as to make a division of the third prize necessary. The prize-winners are:— £I—Mr. C. G. Hill, 25, Eensingtos. street, Wellington. Sl—Mr. Frank Mills, 20, Oarrinfton street, Wellington. 10s—Mrs. A. Mills, 20, Carringtoa street, Wellington. 10s—Mr. H. Gestro, Milne terrae^ Island Bay. A cheque for the amount indicated has been forwarded by the proprietojs j of the "Evening Post" to each of th* winners.
