COPRA.

Important as is the fruit industry to the islands, the production of copra affords a surer income. The coconut palm grows in abundance, and hundreds of tons of copra are produced during the season, finding a ready market, especially in the United States. Some of the planters have properly cultivated the coconut palm, and the orderly rows of trees present a most attractive appearance as compared with the wild disarray that usually prevails.
