BANANAS.

The hurricane that ravaged Rarotonga on the Ist of April last seriously damaged the banana crop, and only now is the next crop coming into full bearing. The decision of the New Zealand Government to provide a specially-con-structed Administration steamer with insulated space for fruit, affords great satisfaction to tho planters in the islands, and they are hoping thereby to obtain more frequent communication with the fruit markets of New Zealand.
