PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
"Infatuation," the screen adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's famous play, "Caesar's Wife," which enjoyed a phenomenal run on Boardway, is the principal attraction at the Paramount Theatre this week. The picture Was screened for the first time last evening, and should prove quite an attraction for the coming week. It possesses some very unique and outstanding features. The Btory of the wife of an English ambassador to Cairo who believes that her husband is neglecting her, and who eventually returns to him after a passionate flirtation, "Infatuation" gives Miss Corinne Griffith an excellent opportunity to make the most of her very considerable talent; and she certainly does so. Dainty and fascinating, she gives an almost perfect interpretation of the part which she has to portray. The scenes of the story are laid in London and amidst the glamour of old Egypt, while some of the settings are remarkably beautiful. In addition, the cast includes Percy Marmont, Malcolm MacGregor, and Warner Oland—all good players. Also appearing are Claire dv Brey, Leato Lorraine,. Martha Mattox, and Clarissa Selwynne. The well-chosen supporting programme includes a Gaumont Graphic, a fine scenic picture, a Pathe Review, and a laughable "Felix the Cat" cartoon. An enjoyable musical programme is supplied by the Paramount orchestra, under Mr. R. R. Caulton. The box plan is at the Utility stationery shop, next the theatre.
