SHEEPSKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES
At tho fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides, and tallow held yesterday average catalogues of all descriptions were offered. For sheepskins the demand was again strong, and prices for the best sorts sold from par to y t d per lb better than late rates, while other grades ruled firm. Saltta were keenly sought after and sold in sellers' favour. For hides there was Rood competition for all grades. The lighter averages advanced 1-Sd por lb, and at times %d, while medium and heavyweights were without any material change. Kip, yearling, and calfskins sold well up to late rates. The tallow market was easier, values being 6d to Is per cwt. lower than previous quotations.
