AMALGAMATION PROPOSAL
COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER DETAILS

At a meeting of "the directors of tin Kawarau Company, and a committee n: presenting the general body of claimholders, the suggestion that it would be in the interests of all if the amalgamation of all companies and interests concerned could be brought about, was favourably considered, and a committee representing both parties was set up to consider the details of such a scheme. The feeling was that the undertaking would then be on a more sound foundation to carry out the necessary works' to ensure the success of the scheme.' The meeting agreed that the dam was a complete success. It had performed the function's for which it was designed and constructed, and that the volume of water at present passing down the Kawarau was due to the melting snows and consequent freshes on the Shotover, Arrow, and Nevis River watersheds. v \
