"GALLIPOLI DAY"
IN MEMORY OF THE HEROES OF THE EMPIRE. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 3rd September, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 2nd September. The Constantinople correspondent o! the "Morning Post" states that those . taking part in tho pilgrimage to Gallipoli have arrived, after a voyage of inspection through the Dardanelles. A meeting of tho pilgrims aboard the steamer resolved to advocate an alteration from "Anzae Day" to "Gallipoli Day," in order that the name shall give no monopoly of fame. Under the auspices of St. Barnabas,, 260 mothers, fathers, and children set ' out from Victoria Station, London, on 24th August, in a pilgrimage to the ' Gallipoli, Constanti pie, and Salonika' war graves. They, came from all parts of Britain without distinction of rich. and poor, with only one class on the chartered vessel. The party was the first to land at Suvla Bay since the end of hostilities. The party/took its own-: trumpeter, who was to sound the .'L«st.' Post" before the minutes of 'silence, which was to be held alongside the . Cape Helles Memorial.'". . .;
