BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIP
(By Tolegraph.) I (Special to "Tho Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The New Zealand amateur billiards championship was continued yesterday, the match between E. V. Roberts and W. Rae. being decided in the afternoon. Both players proved fast scorers, 1059 points being made between them in just under two hours. Roberts won by 273. His best breaks wero 55, 54, 49, 47, 41, 40, 34. 28, 28, and 27, averaging over 10 per innings. Rae made runs of 35, 32, and 27. In the evening two ex-champions, H. G. Scideberg, Dunedin, and G. B. Lovelock, played. From tho outset it was evidently a battle of tactics, and this was shown in a marked 'degree by the safety practised by Seideberg. He made breaks of 20, 23, 40, 24, 50, 48, 22, 36, 38, 23, and 36, averaging 6.6, and running out a winner by 215 points. Lovelock's best breaks were 31, 29, 26, and 23. The match between R. Fredatovich and M. D. White this evening will conclude the second- round.
