SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

Tuesday's^ bi-weekly concert at tlic Sailors' Friend Society was another charming success, under the leadership of rho' hostesses, Miss M. Howarth and Mrs. Fletcher, who, with others, were rewarded with warm encores. Tho performers woro tho Mosdames Ingham, J. Paterson, and London, the Misses Geere-Watson, Davies, and ]j. M. Howarth, and Messrs. Kerraodo, Ashburno, and O'Connell. Mrs. London was at the piano. "What Cain You Carry?" was Mr. J. Mooro's subject in relation to temperance. Pledges were forthcoming. The competitions were much helped by the beau, tiful prizes donated by tho hostesses. They were won by tho men from ships in port.
