MOEE CHILDREN'S ITEMS. Again, to-day interesting children* items ar« continued: in the Wellington Competition Society's programme. The perormances have been of a good stand, ard A feature of this evening's programme will be the impromptu speech (gentlemen). In past years the impromptu speech always fias proved popular with audiences. There will be six competitors tonight jn this event. Following are the awards made this morning:— Piano Solo (14 and under 16), "Eondo in G," Op. 51, No. 2 (Beethoven).—Recalls: Dora Sawden (Wellington), Ormi Eeid (Kglburn), Jean Nicholl (Kelburn), Harry Haigh (Lower Hutt). Story, Without Words (boys . and (or) girls, under 16), one or more characters.— Miss Mavis Windsor and Master Laurence Searle (Wellington), "Getty Ready for School," 82 points, V; Miss Joan Maunder (Wellington), "The Competitions," 76 points, 2.
