SURVEY FROM THE AIR
MANAWATU-OROUA WATERSHED,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
PALMERSTON N., This Day.
An invitation which, if accepted, will probably create a precedent for New Zealand, was issued at the sitting of the Manawatu-Oroua River District Commission by Mr. P. E. Baldwin, solicitor to the Manawatu-Oroua River Board. Captain Buckley, of the New Zealand Air Force, who at present is making an aerial survey of tho River Board's district, had just concluded his evidence when Mr. Baldwin told tho Commission that Captain Buckley would be only too pleased to take any members on flights over the flood threatened area.
■ "Thank you, that would be a very convenient and oasy method of seeing tho land," observed the. chairman of the Commission (Mr. E. M. Watson, 8.M.). ''Wo will consider it." He added: "Then; in only one condition attaching to the suggestion. It is that the River Board's counsel docs not accompany tho Commission," added Mr. Baldwin, amidst laughter.
