AMERICAN WHEAT CROP.

ON A WORLD BASIS NEXT YEAR

DEPAKTMENTAL ANNOUNCE^ 'j MENT. . . \

(United Presi Asaopiatign.—Copyright); (Australian-New Zealand Oabla Awn.). WASHINGTON,. 30ta August.

The Department trf Agriculture hag announced" that ; American wheat'will remain on the world" market basis noxfc year. The Department has published the outlook for winter wheat in. 1926 to ,1927. It declared that the world market situation will be practically the same as at present. It said there was little indication of any material expansion of acreage outside the United States, and the carry-over \next July; was not likely, to be large, barring unusually high yields oyer a large part of the wheat area of the world. Foreign competition will probably be on a par with: the present year. The indications are for a winter wheat crop of 573 million bushels, resulting in. a supply of about 200 million bushels for export.

The Department warned farmers not; to be misled by the relatively high' prices received for the crop harvested in 1925, when prices on a domestic basis were ssid to be under normal con« ditions. The 1927 crop will be in- line with world prices. ■' • ■ , .
