GENERAL INCREASE IN AUGUST.
The returns of birth, deaths,. and marriages entered in the Wellington Registrar's office for last month show a general increase when compared with the figures for August, 1925. The detailed returns for both periods are:— Aug., 1926. Aug., 1925. Births 174 168 Deaths ;.. 98 86 Slarriage notices .... 70 65 Marriages before the ' Eegistrar 34 25 For the eight months ending 31st August, 1926, the returns are: Births, 1357; deaths, 718; marriage notices, 890; marriages before Registrar, 263.
