FEMININE CURIOSITY

OTHER PEOPLE'S CORRESPOND-

ENCE OPENED,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day.

The Supreme Court' sessions opened to-day; There is a light criminal calendar, including three sexual cases. In three of these there is the uncorroborated evidence of little girls, which Mr. Justice Stringer advised should be accepted with soino hesitancy. "Pure feminine curiosity," was how his Honour described the acts of a young married woman in opening and reading the'letters of other people, which she had to sort at the Post Office at Opatu, wlxcre her father was postmaster. Counsel explained that while the girl, who was newly married, admitted opening the letters, some of which containod valuables, there was no suggestion of fraud or theft.

In discharging the prisoner, his Honour said that she had done an extremely foolish thing, and might have got herself into serious trouble. However, he was convinced that it was a piece of pure, idle feminine curiosity vrhick had done nobody any harm.
