MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. E. -Page, S.M., presided at today's sitting of the Magistrate's Court. Robert William Wilson, who had five previous convictions for drunkenness, was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment. William Murphy, alias Tyler, convicted three times previously for drunkenness, was fined £3, in default fourteen days' imprisonment, and on a charge of. committing a breach of hia prohibition order he was fined £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment, ft \ A remand till 6th February was granted in the case of Elsie May Cooper, who was charged with the theft of a gold ring, valued at £25, the property of lian Common. Senior Detective Cameron jStated that other charges were pending. John William Eadford appeared on a._ charge of attempting to commit suicide by poison. It was stated by the police that after drinking the poison Radford was removed to the Hospital, and had come out of the institution this morning. As he needed better attention that was available, at his home, he was remanded foe-a week for medical treatment.
