CAIRO, 27th January. Zaghlul Pasha, in a speech at a banquet in his honour/ attended by 196 deputies, esteemed it fortunate that a British Ministry had obtained power which was well disposed to uphold the principles of right and justice. Egyptians were prepared to confer with this Ministry with a view to obtaining real independence, while respecting reasonable and acceptable British interests and not clashing therewith.
He testified to the help already given; and likely to continue to be given, by foreign residents, who would be treated with traditional hospitality. Egyptians and foreigners must live peacefully together for the common good. i
Zaghlul Pasha/s party, whose policy is lor Egyptian independence, recently scored an/ overwhelming victory in the Egyptian elections.
