ANNUAL PICNIC

On Anniversary Day the members, staff, and many friends of Hanna and King-, Ltd.,. journeyed by char-a-bancs to Stokes Valley, where a most enjoyable picnic was held on Mr. King's property. The annual ladies' and/gentlemen's relay race was well contested, with thirteen pairs'in the field. In a close finish Miss Whitcomb and Mr." .Terns proved the winners. During the afternoon a cricket match, Hanna and King v. Stokes Valley, was played, and resulted in a win lor the Valley team by 174 runs to_ 149. Games and niusic amidst glorious surroundings ensured -a v really happy time Jor' all, and the brilliant sun made the bathing pool very popular. Afternoon tea was served in the bush, about forty Valley residents participating, including Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Menzies, Mr., and Mrs. C. Young Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorne, Mr, and Mrs St. Johnson, My. and Mrs. Petherick Mr. and Mrs. Styles. At the conclusion Mr. and Mrs. King were accorded an ovation for their efforts in making the picnic a success, and Mr. C. Young, on behalf of the Valley residents, expressed pleasure at again combining with Hanna and King's party, voicing the unanimous wish of his fellow-residents that the picnic should be held in the valley every year.
