MR. BALDWIN DEFEATED

ADVERSE MAJORITY OF 72 VOTES,

As the result of the' expected division in the House of Commons on the Labour Party's No-confidence Amendment to the 'Address-in-Reply, moved by Mr. J. It. dynes, the Baldwin Government ■- was defeated. The adverse majority \was 72 votes.
The complete returns of the General Election of 7th December, 1913, were not cabled put, but, with 13 returns still to come, the position of the Parties was :— Conservatives 259 Liberals 148 I.ajxw Ils7 Independent ..., , 8 1 lv's makes the combined majority against the Conservatives 85, so that the voting of the Liberals with Labour against the Government must have been fairly solid. ,
